It’s that time of the year again when Telugu film fans pay homage to the demigod of dance, the Zeus of acting, and the champion of charm – Chiranjeevi. His latest release, “Daddy”, has swept audiences off their feet with his every move and dialogue. Even those who weren’t fans before are now initiated into the Chiru Club. With superb performances, fun choreography, and brilliant direction, “Daddy” is a must-see film and a nominee for all award functions.
Plot:
The film follows the life of Raja, a philanthropist and part-time choreographer born with a golden spoon. He falls in love with and marries the beautiful Shanti, and they lead a happy life until they lose their fortune due to a betrayal by Raja’s friend. Their happiness is further shattered when their daughter Akshaya dies, causing a rift between Raja and Shanti. The film follows Raja’s struggles to deal with his guilt and reunite his family.
Visuals and Production:
“Daddy” stuns viewers with its high production values and elegant visuals. The film is classy and beautifully shot, with most of the songs filmed in Europe. The songs are easy on the ears, and the choreography of the first number “Lucky Lucky” is outstanding.
Cast:
Chiranjeevi’s performance is phenomenal, as he dances like popcorn on hot fire and outshines his co-stars in every way. Simran’s acting and looks are impressive, but her dancing falls short compared to Chiranjeevi’s. Newcomer Ashima Bhalla’s leggy lineage and acting skills are noteworthy. Rajendra Prasad and Kota Srinivas Rao deliver subdued yet good performances.
Conclusion:
“Daddy” is a winner all the way, with a strong script and direction that keep the audience engaged throughout. The film evokes pathos through subtlety rather than clichéd methods, making it easy to relate to. It’s a film that can be enjoyed by all age groups and is sure to entertain. Chiranjeevi seems to be proclaiming “Veni, Vedi, Vici” at the end of the movie, leaving viewers at a loss for words.
