Inspector Aarthi (played by Kajal Aggarwal) sets out to capture a criminal, Das (KS Ravi Kumar), who had been previously arrested by her father two decades ago. During the mission, Aarthi accidentally kills an innocent civilian named Jai, after which she begins to experience strange and absurd events in her life. The reasons for these occurrences and whether Jai is responsible for them are revealed in the film’s plot.
In terms of positives, Kajal Aggarwal looks stunning in some scenes, and Yogi Babu’s witty one-liners provide some relief. KS Ravi Kumar’s portrayal of a gangster with a comical twist is a fresh change for the audience, and actor Jai’s cameo is meaningful despite his limited screen time. Urvashi and Rajendran justify their respective roles and evoke laughter.
However, the film has several negative aspects. Firstly, viewers may wonder why Kajal Aggarwal accepted such a meaningless film that fails to provide any horror or comedy. Her performance is lackluster, and the film’s outdated scenes fail to induce fear. The emotional aspect of the film also falls short.
Director Kalyaan’s writing and direction skills fall flat, and the cinematography, background score, and production values are average. The editor could have trimmed many unnecessary scenes to improve the film’s pacing.
In conclusion, “Khosty” is neither scary nor funny and is a disappointment to the horror-comedy genre. The film’s poor writing and screenplay make it a dull and boring watch, and even Kajal Aggarwal’s presence cannot salvage the film’s prospects. It’s best to skip this film.
