Movie Review : Kabzaa

The plot of Kabzaa is set in the pre-independence era and revolves around the life of Arkeshwara (played by Upendra), the son of a patriotic freedom fighter who takes a different path and becomes a mafia don after turning rowdy. The movie focuses on what led him to become such a powerful force and the story of a royal family that keeps viewers engaged.

Director R Chandru has created an authentic and realistic portrayal of the 1940s era with impressive set design and costumes. However, the emphasis on Arkeshwara’s character development takes precedence over a deeper exploration of the plot, resulting in a weak screenplay. The background music complements the plot effectively.

Upendra delivers a convincing performance in his role, while Sudeep’s cameo appearance as Bhargav Bakshi leaves a lasting impact. Shriya Saran adds emotional depth to her character, and Murali Sharma, Sunil Puranik, and Anoop Revanna give their best performances. The Namami song is visually stunning amidst the blood and gore sequences. Although there are several villains in the movie, Arkeshwara remains the standout character with his one-liners and impactful dialogues that entertain the audience.

The entry of Shivarajkumar in the climax brings an unexpected twist to the story, adding another layer of excitement to the plot. The combination of a well-crafted story, impressive visuals, and talented ensemble cast makes Kabzaa a must-watch movie.
