Kiran Abbavaram, known for his recent successful releases, starred in the latest film “Meter,” but unfortunately, his acting skills alone couldn’t save this poorly-written police action drama. The film’s story, screenplay, and direction by Ramesh Kaduri failed to impress and engage the audience, with routine narrative and stale tropes. The dialogues mostly felt over-the-top and illogical, with several instances of cringe-worthy double-meaning banter. Despite decent production values, music, and cinematography, the film suffered from choppy editing and continuity issues. The characters lacked originality and merely imitated their own hit mannerisms and dialogues from other movies.
Actress Athulyaa Ravi, making her Telugu debut, had a limited role as Arjun’s love interest and did a decent job within her character’s limitations. Dhanush Pawan played the antagonist’s role and delivered a commendable performance. Sapthagiri’s occasional humor as Arjun’s uncle and Posani Krishna Murali as Police Commissioner provided some relief.
The film had music by Sai Kartheek, cinematography by Venkat C Dileep, editing by Karthika Srinivas, production design by JV, and dialogues by Ramesh Kaduri and Surya.
Overall, “Meter” had some entertaining moments, but the writing lacked imagination and coherence. Despite Kiran Abbavaram and Dhanush Pawan’s good performances, the film couldn’t live up to its potential.
